“Hope” is a feature film released by Lotte Entertainment in South Korea, which was released in South Korea on October 2, 2013.
The film is adapted from a real case in South Korea. It mainly tells the story of how an underage girl got out of the shadow of her heart after being sexually assaulted and how her family faced life. In 2013, the film won the 34th Korean Film Blue Dragon Award for Best Picture.
소원 is a beautiful and ordinary little girl who lives with her parents at home on the corner of the street. The family runs a grocery store named after her, 소원, her mother is busy day and night as the proprietress, and her father is doing heavy work in the factory. On that rainy morning, 소원 went to school alone under an umbrella. Close to the school, she encounters a wretched, drunk uncle, which starts her tragic journey. The tender little flower was ruthlessly destroyed by the storm, not only the branches and leaves were injured, but also the heart that grew worry-free in the sun. The unscrupulous media was overwhelmingly exaggerating, and the 소원 family as the victims seemed to have become filthy and humiliating people, surrounded by surprised and curious eyes. Mother was so distraught that she almost collapsed. Dad tried his best to protect his daughter, but the injured little angel refused to approach him. The road to murder is accompanied by the angel’s journey of healing, and the beautiful girl will smile again.
In less than two months, Zhao Doushun, who brutally assaulted an 8-year-old girl, was released from prison after serving his sentence. Previously, he had stated that he would return to Ansan City to live with his wife after being released from prison. Zhao Dou Soon is the prototype of the main criminal in the Korean movie “Hope”. Naying and his family, the prototype of the victim in the film, currently live in Ansan City, and the two are only about 1 km apart. As Zhao Doushun’s release date approaches, the Korean people have launched a donation campaign to raise moving costs for the victim’s family. So far, the campaign has received nearly 200 million won in donations. The South Korean movie “Hope” was adapted from this authentic case of sexual assault, which was put on the screen shortly after the case occurred. This is another Korean realism film that has attracted widespread attention after “Silenced”. In 2013, the film won the 34th Korean Film Blue Dragon Award for Best Picture. At the 2014 Fourth Beijing International Film Festival Awards Ceremony, the young actor won the Best Supporting Actress Award for her outstanding performance in the film, and was nominated for the Best New Actress in the film category of the Baeksang Arts Awards in Korea.
I haven’t actually watched the movie “Hope”. I just watched some film reviews and introductions. This is because its subject matter is a bit similar to “Silenced”. Both are based on real cases and both talk about underage children being Incidents of sexual assault. The extreme despair portrayed in “Silenced” left me with a shadow of similar subjects.
I have to say that Korean reality-themed movies are really profound, bold, unscrupulous and intriguing in terms of reflecting social issues and exposing human issues.
In fact, whether boys or girls, as a vulnerable group, they all deserve the protection they deserve. Like “Silenced”, “Hope” is a movie that makes people feel good in this life but never want to open it again.
Rape, in some sense, damages the lives of victims (especially young children) far more than any harm.
A person’s life will be completely changed as a result, unless one has the heart-wrenching courage and the surroundings are fortunate enough to tolerate and encourage your family and friends, otherwise it is inevitable to live in a long nightmare. (The little girl was ruined like this by the beasts, it’s so distressing)
Like in the movie “Hope”, a nine-year-old girl who is so sweet that people just want to take care of her is suddenly miserable. Just sigh: Hell is empty, the devil is in the world!
While we spurn animal crimes, throughout the story, we can also see that 소원 is surrounded by clumsy fathers, sensitive mothers, kind counselors, understanding neighbors and classmates, but they are all kind.
Unfortunately, in real life, not all of us are kind:
In the face of the indifferent eyes and relentless attacks of the people around us, and even the cannibalistic media, we are helpless. Within three hours, malicious communicators will put you on the hot spot for traffic, spread all over everyone’s circle of friends, and suffer a second degree of mental trauma.
What’s more, the story of “Hope” is still adapted from real events, and the entire storyline has been beautified to a certain extent based on the real version. (After seeing the real incident, it makes people feel bad, and I will feel more sad when I say it. I won’t describe too much here. If you are interested, you can Baidu the “Zhao Douchun case” by yourself to understand the whole story)
Finally, I sincerely hope that more love is lingering around us. The plot in the story will never happen to us. After all, it is really sad.
