According to media sources, Sony Classic Pictures will use the game “Dreams” to shoot a movie. The film, titled “A Winter’s Journey”, is set in Bavaria (now southeastern Germany) in 1812.
The film will tell the story of a poet’s dangerous journey through mountains, ice and snow. This tundra-covered world will be built in Dreams.
According to the release, the film “seamlessly blends live-action footage, CG and hand-drawn animation.”
The film was co-produced by Oiffy Studios and the BreakThru Films team.
The film is directed by Alex Helfrecht (“The White King”) and Hugh Welchman (“Loving Vincent”) will serve as a producer.
“Dreams” is a unique adventure game produced by Media Molecule and published by Sony.
The theme of the game is creation, allowing players to build all kinds of fantastic things themselves, sculpting textures and stitching them together into their own movies and games.
Previously, we have reported that players have used Dreams to make “Halo” demo clips, “Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout” levels, etc.
Let’s look forward to this wonderful Sony movie together.
