Mark Ruffalo and Hugh Laurie join Netflix’s new limited series “All the Light We Cannot See”.
Steven Knight adapted the script for the film, Shawn Levy served as director and producer, and the series has a total of 4 episodes.
Starring newcomer Aria Mia Loberti, the film is based on the Pulitzer-winning novel of the same name by Anthony Doerr.
“All the Light We Cannot See” tells the story of Marie-Laure, a blind French teenage girl who meets Werner, a young German soldier during World War II, as both try to survive the ruins of occupied France.
Ruffalo plays Marie’s father, Daniel LeBlanc, a thoughtful and intelligent master locksmith at the Natural History Museum in Paris. He decided to give his daughter as much independence as possible while protecting her and the secret gem they carried from Nazi occupation.
Laurie plays Daniel’s uncle, Etienne, an oddly reclusive World War I hero suffering from PTSD.
He recorded clandestine radio broadcasts as part of the French Resistance.
