“Anansi Boys‎” Reveals New Dynamics: Whoopi Goldberg Will Play Bird Woman

The film “Anansi Boys”, based on Neil Gaiman’s novel of the same name, is currently shooting in Scotland.

A few days ago, the film confirmed the role of Bird Woman. Ultimately, famous movie star Whoopi Goldberg will play the role.

For the role of Goldberg, Neil Gaiman said that this is his first choice actor.

He said: “When I was writing ‘Anansi Boys‎,’ I had the Whoopi Goldberg image in my head. However, I never had the chance to meet her. Later, in 2018, we met at Comic-Con and we talked about read the novel and said it was one of her favorite novels. I think I’m incredibly lucky.”

“Anansi Boys‎” tells the story of Fat Charlie, who lives a normal life in London when he calls his long-estranged father who lives in the United States and invites him to his wedding, only to find out that he has just passed away.

Fat Charlie travels to Florida for his father’s funeral and embarks on a thrilling paranormal journey after encountering incredible things and people.

Neil Gaiman described the novel as “a magical horror thriller spooky romantic comedy family epic”.

As a writer, Neil Gaiman is a household name in Europe and America and is regarded as a representative of a new generation of fantasy literature. His work spans fantasy, science fiction, horror, children’s fiction, comics, and lyrics.

“A Study in Emerald” under his name won the Hugo Award in 2004, and “American Gods” became extremely popular after being adapted into a film and television drama.

Currently, there is no specific release schedule for the film.
