Takeshi Kitano biopic “Asakusa Kid” created by Netflix has released a new trailer.
“Asakusa Kid” is written and directed by Hitori Gekidan (“A Bolt from the Blue”), starring Yûya Yagira and Yo Oizumi.
The film is adapted from the song “Asakusa Kid” composed by Takeshi Kitano and the autobiography of the same name.

The story is set in Asakusa, Tokyo in the 1940s, and revolves around Senzaburo Fukami’s process of nurturing Takeshi Kitano.
Yûya Yagira plays the young Takeshi Kitano, Yo Oizumi plays the master, legendary artist Senzaburo Fukami, Honami Suzuki plays the master’s wife Mari, and Mugi Kadowaki plays the singer-targeted dancer Chiharu.
“Asakusa Kid” will be launched on December 9.
