According to media reports, “Gisaengchung” director Bong Joon ho directed the untitled sci-fi film for Warner Bros. In addition to starring “The New Batman” Robert Pattinson, Toni Collette, “Hulk” Mark Ruffalo and Naomi Ackie have also recently joined.
The film is adapted from writer Edward Ashton’s new science fiction novel “Mickey7”, which was released on February 15. The style is described as “The Martian” & “Dark Matter” and is distributed by Warner Bros.
The film tells the story of Mickey7, a man who embarks on a colonial journey to the frozen land of Niflheim. He is a sacrificial “consumable”, hired to do those high-risk tasks, and when he dies, he will use a Reborn as a clone, most of the memory is preserved.
This time he was also deemed dead, and he returned to the mission base to find a new clone, Mickey8, taking his place, and Mickey7 decided to rebel.
The script of the film was also written by Bong Joon ho. This is his second collaboration with Warner Bros. after the American TV series “Gisaengchung”.
