The new biopic “Elvis” directed by Baz Luhrmann (“Moulin Rouge” “The Great Gatsby”) is officially announced to join the Cannes Film Festival Film List, and it will have its world premiere in the non-screening section.
“Elvis” stars Austin Butler, Tom Hanks, and Olivia DeJonge will be in attendance.

Butler as legendary singer Elvis Presley, Hanks as his manager Tom Parker, David Wenham, Luke Bracey, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Kelvin Harrison Jr., Dacre Montgomery, Natasha Bassett and more.

Luhrmann is producing alongside his wife Catherine Martin, who have been developing “The Great Gatsby” since 2013.
Written by Luhrmann and longtime partner Craig Pearce, it recounts the rise and heyday of Elvis Presley, and the film focuses on the more than 20-year relationship between Elvis Presley and Pearce.
