According to The Root, the disabled girl in the book is named Assata, and because of her disability, she eventually gave up her dream of joining Dora Milaje.
But when word of her deeds got out, Shuri, Okoye, and M’Baku approached her, praised her for her courage, and exceptionally appointed her to Dora Milaje.
