Produced by Netflix and directed by Andrew Dominik, Marilyn Monroe’s biopic “Blonde” has revealed new developments.
It is reported that the film, which has been in production since 2019, has finally completed post-production and editing.
In Netflix’s plan, “Blonde” will be screened in theaters and competed in awards season.
Currently, Netflix has not set a release schedule for “Blonde.” But Dominik revealed that the film is expected to debut at the Cannes Film Festival in May this year for an out-of-competition screening.
As for the large-scale footage, Andrew Dominik denied it. However, it was confirmed that there was a scene in which Monroe was violated.
And this plot, not Andrew Dominik’s original, but retained from Joyce Carol Oates’ biographical novel of the same name.
The biggest feature of the biography is to imitate Monroe’s tone, written in the form of a memoir.
On the subject of Ana de Armas’ Cuban accent, Andrew Dominik explained that he did some work in post to make Armas’ accent sound more American.
