The thriller ‘The Menu’ took second place at the box office with $9 million in its opening weekend. The film follows a young couple who go to a fancy restaurant on a remote island where the chef prepares a lavish menu with some shocking surprises.
The film has a freshness of 90% on Rotten Tomatoes and a popcorn index of 79%. The evaluation is OK. ‘The Menu’ currently grossed $15.2 million at the global box office. Considering that the film cost as much as $30 million, the pressure to make it back is quite high.
The third entry was a U.S. drama about the biblical story of ‘The Chosen’ that tried to open in theaters for the first two episodes of its third season and took in $8.21 million, leaving behind both ‘Black Adam’ and ‘Ticket To Paradise’, which are in their fifth week of release.
