According to media reports, the new drama “This England” starring “Tenet” actor Kenneth Branagh has been revealed for the first time. The drama tells the story of the British government’s response to the new crown epidemic. Branagh plays British Prime Minister Boris Johnson in the play.
“This England” is a 5-episode limited series that will air on Sky in the UK this autumn.
This series focuses on the UK in the early days of the Covid-19 pandemic: How has the outbreak affected the country? How do scientists and medical staff who are actively fighting the epidemic respond?
The content of the show comes from the experiences of frontline workers, “countless true stories”, from the Prime Minister’s residence at 10 Downing Street to the Ministry of Health, from the British Emergency Advisory Group (SAGE) to hospitals and care centers across the UK… Some of the most devastating events in British history and how the Prime Minister is leading at this unprecedented time.”
Michael Winterbottom, who directed all episodes, and Kieron Quirke, who directed all episodes, are co-writers, with “The Sunday Times” political editor Tim Shipman serving as a consultant on the series.
