This brought the “trusteeship” lawsuit between the smashing queen Britney Spears and his father James Parnell Spears into the center of attention.
In September of this year, James filed a petition with the Los Angeles Superior Court to apply for termination of custody of Britney.

In 2007, after Britney was admitted to the hospital due to mental problems, her father applied to the court to obtain permanent custody of his daughter.
In 2008, Britney’s mental issues attracted much attention, and the singer’s career has been controlled by his legal guardian James Parnell Spears ever since.
At the time, the court agreement gave her father control of Britney’s property and all aspects of life.
Later, Britney sued James Parnell Spears for “abuse of custody” in an attempt to release his father’s custody.
But James Parnell Spears has always denied these allegations of misconduct and expressed concern about his daughter’s physical and mental health.
In 2019, Britney announced that she will stop all performances until James Parnell Spears surrenders custody.
On June 23 this year, Britney claimed that she had been abused by her father in the past 13 years. She was forbidden to marry and have children and was forced to place a birth control ring in her body.
Britney’s attorney submitted a petition to the court on July 26 this year, requesting the removal of his father’s guardian status.
James Parnell Spears submitted a document to the Los Angeles Superior Court on September 7 (Tuesday): “Recently, supervision-related matters have been questioned, and the relevant circumstances have changed drastically. The reason (James) for establishing supervision may no longer exist.”
“Ms. Britney told the court that she wanted to regain control of her life without supervision.”
The petition also mentioned that Britney expressed the hope that he could supervise his personal medical and financial status.
