In September 2020, AMC announced: “The Walking Dead” will launch a spin-off series starring Carol Peletier and Daryl Dixon, starting in 2023.
And now, Carol Peletier actor Melissa McBride has dropped out of the show, so the show’s protagonist will become Norman Reedus Daryl Dixon alone.
There are suspicions that McBride’s withdrawal was due to creative reasons, and AMC later issued a statement, saying that it was because of the location of the filming: the show planned to start filming in Europe this summer, and McBride couldn’t do it by living in Europe for a while.
The statement also expressed regret for this, “We hope to see Carol Peletier again in the near future”.
