Jane Fonda, Diane Keaton, Mary Steenburgen and Candice Bergen return to star in the comedy-drama ‘Book Club 2: The Next Chapter’ scheduled for Northern America release next Mother’s Day week, May 12.
The first film is about four elderly girlfriends in their 60s who are rejuvenated and fall in love romantically after reading ‘Fifty Shades Darker’.
This time the story is set in Italy, where the sisters take an exotic trip of a lifetime together. And when things go off the rails and secrets are revealed, their relaxing vacation turns into a once-in-a-lifetime adventure.
The sequel also has the first director Bill Holderman, screenwriter Holderman & Erin Simms and actors Andy Garcia, Don Johnson, Craig T. Nelson and others return, Giancarlo Giannini, Hugh Quarshie, Vincent Riotta newly joined.
‘Book Club’ was released in 2018 and was a surprise success at the box office, raking in $68 million in Northern America and $104 million worldwide at a cost of $14 million.
