Daniel Brühl joins “The Collaboration”, which tells about Warhol’s artistic past

‘The Collaboration’, a film about the past of the famous and talented artist partners Jean-Michel Basquiat and Andy Warhol, reveals the addition of the famous actor Daniel Brühl.

At this point, the film’s starring cast is basically set: Paul Bettany as Warhol, Jeremy Pope as Jean-Michel Basquiat, and Brühl as an art manager.

The Collaboration’ is based on ‘Theory of Everything’, a play of the same name by ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ screenwriter Anthony McCarten, and the play’s director, Kwame Kwei-Armah, continues to direct the film version, which revolves around the relationship between two iconic artists. Beginning in the summer of 1984, superstar Andy Warhol and art world’s newest prodigy, Jean-Michel Basquiat, entered into a collaboration to create one of the most talked about exhibitions in the history of modern art.

Brühl plays the legendary art manager Bruno Bischofberger, who first proposed a series of collaborations between Basquiat and Warhol.

In the 1980s, these two artists were at very different stages in their lives and careers.

In reality, Warhol and Basquiat have developed a memorable friendship that has been enjoyed for years.

But after a huge criticism of one of their joint exhibitions, the young Basquiat began to sulk and died suddenly of an overdose in 1988, before he was even 28 years old.

‘The Collaboration’ play premiered at London’s Little Vic Theatre in February this year, and will continue on Broadway after the film is made.
