Warner Bros. and DC’s “Blue Beetle” project has been in the works for more than a year, but the film is still in the casting phase.
A few days ago, it was reported that actors Bruna Marquezine, Harvey Guillen and Belissa Escobedo will join and play important roles in the film.
Bruna Marquezine will play Penny, a brand new original character that doesn’t exist in DC’s comics.

As for the rest of the cast, Latino actor Xolo Maridueña will play Blue Beetle, directed by Angel Manuel Soto.
Blue Beetle is a superhero under DC. According to the arrangement of the producers, the protagonist of the film will be the third-generation Blue Beetle, Mexican-American Jaime Reyes.
After Shazam was killed, Khaji Da landed in El Paso, Texas, where he was picked up by teenager Jaime.
Later, Khaji Da fused into Jaime’s spine when he was sleeping, and Jaime has since become the third generation of Blue Beetle. At this time, Blue Beetle has the ability to change weapons at will.
