A group of unnamed LGBTQ Pixar employees and allies issued a statement saying that its parent company, Disney, strictly controls the same-sex content in its works, “ordering the removal of almost every obvious gay love scene in the film, even if Pixar’s creation. It’s no use objecting to the leadership team.”
The statement is in response to Disney’s stance on Florida’s recent “Don’t Say Gay” bill.

The bill bans content about sexual orientation or gender identity in classrooms from kindergarten to third grade, and allows parents to appeal against schools and teachers who talk about the subject.
Disney CEO Bob Chapek’s ambiguity about the bill has sparked discussion and controversy.
Chapek has since pledged to donate $5 million to LGBTQ organizations and met with Florida Governor Rob DeSantis to discuss the bill.
In an email to company employees this week, Chapek said that Disney supports LGBTQ employees and their groups, but believes that the company’s public position on the bill is not the most effective way, hoping to use the work to change people’s hearts: “The company’s statement is not that effective. Changing the way can be counterproductive because it is often used as a weapon to stand in line…. The best way to bring about lasting change is – the inspiring content we produce, the culture of inclusion we create, the diversity we support community organization”.
The statement from some LGBTQ employees at Pixar responded to the email, arguing that the email was “empty”, that Disney does not allow employees to produce “inspirational content” and called on Disney to stop supporting the bill. Politicians pay.
Disney will cut such content even as employees try to make their work more inclusive, the statement said, “even though creating LGBTQIA+ content is the way to fix discriminatory laws in this world, we are prohibited from creating such content. Except for those We are not even allowed to create ‘inspirational content’, and we demand action.” He recalled Disney’s clear public statement earlier, saying that the company’s statement can change the effect of the law, saying that Disney “if it really adheres to the company’s values, then ”, should make clear its position on similar discriminatory statutes in several states in the United States.
