Canadian director Denis Villeneuve said in an interview with foreign media that “Dune: Part 2” may actually start shooting in the fall of 2022.
Villeneuve also clarified his recent remarks that Chani (Zendaya) will be the protagonist of the sequel, claiming that Paul Atreides (Timothée Chalamet, the first protagonist of “Dune”) is still the focus of the film.
“She (Chani) is still one of the main characters, this role is very important, but Dune is still a story about Paul Atreides…. This misunderstanding is my own cause. This is a “lost in translation” (lost in translation).”
