Once upon a time, the Cannes Film Festival also banned selfies on the red carpet. Today, the most influential international film festival in the world will embrace short videos and officially cooperate with TikTok to provide TikTok users with exclusive interview content from the backstage, the red carpet and filmmakers.
At the same time, Cannes will cooperate with TikTok to hold the first global competition for TikTok short films. TikTok users around the world can participate in short films of 30 seconds to 3 minutes in the TikTok app.
The jury will be led by well-known directors, and the three awards will be awarded during the festival, including the top prize, the best screenplay and the best editing. Thierry Frémaux, artistic director of the Cannes Film Festival, will also attend the award ceremony.
Frémaux said Cannes’ partnership with TikTok is to share the festival with a wider, more global and larger audience than ever before.
