“Eternals” tops the box office this week, “Clifford the Big Red Dog” far exceeds expectations

Although “Eternals” has become a “rotten” superhero movie that is “well-known”, the audience still can’t stop its strong box office appeal.

“Eternals” received $27.5 million in the next weekend and won the No. 1 box office in North America. The box office of the film this week fell 61.4% year-on-year.

“Eternals” is the fifth film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe that has fallen more than 60% every weekend.

At present, the “Eternals” North American box office has accumulated a total of 118.8 million U.S. dollars, and the global box office has reached 281.4 million U.S. dollars.

In second place is Paramount’s “Clifford the Big Red Dog”, the film’s first weekend box office reached 16.4 million US dollars in three days.

“Clifford the Big Red Dog” premiered last Wednesday, and the current gross box office of the film is $22 million, far exceeding the official estimate of $15 million.

Considering that “Clifford the Big Red Dog” is a mixed release, this box office performance has also been affected by the streaming platform.

“Clifford the Big Red Dog” is undoubtedly the dark horse of the North American box office this time.

The freshness of “Clifford the Big Red Dog” rotten tomatoes is only 48%, and the CinemaScore audience rating is A.

Although the film is not well received, it has been recognized by the market as a home movie.

Before Disney’s “Encanto” is released on November 24, “Clifford the Big Red Dog” will dominate the North American children’s market.

“Dune” ranked third with $5.5 million. The film’s North American cumulative total of $93.1 million, and the global box office cumulative total of $351.2 million.

“Dune” is currently also playing on HBO Max.

“007: No Time to Die” ranked fourth with US$4.62 million. The film’s North American box office totaled US$150.5 million and the global box office totaled US$708.7 million.

“Venom 2” ranked fifth with $4 million. The film’s North American cumulative total of 202.7 million U.S. dollars, the global box office cumulative total of 441.5 million U.S. dollars.

“Venom 2” became the second film to exceed $200 million at the North American box office after “Shang-Chi”.

Kenneth Branagh’s self-directed Oscar hit “Belfast” premiered last Friday and ranked eighth with a box office of $1.8 million, followed by “Spencer”.

This black-and-white film based on Kenneth Branagh’s childhood story was only shown in 580 theaters.
