Ethan Hawke will star in the limited series ‘The Whites’ with Jez Butterworth (‘Ford v. Ferrari’, ‘Edge of Tomorrow’, ‘Spectre’) writing and executive producing with Hawke and Rian Johnson and other executive producers, Showtime production.
The Whites, based on the novel of the same name by Richard Price, tells the story of each detective who is haunted by their white whale, the perpetrator of a malfunctioning justice system that escaped.
Billy (Hawke) is a former member of his department’s Nova, a group of highly respected police officers known as the “Wild Geese,” who transferred from the NYPD homicide department to the night watch department, where his case ended every time he clocked out.
But when a seemingly straightforward murder case involving a white whale is revealed, his past resurfaces, threatening his career, lasting friendships and family.
