Claire Danes (“Homeland”) joins the FX limited series “Fleishman Is in Trouble,” where she and Jesse Eisenberg play ex-husbands and wives.
“Fleishman Is in Trouble” is based on the best-selling novel of the same name by Taffy Brodesser-Akner, who also wrote the screenplay.
The series tells the story of Toby Fleishman, a 40-year-old who recently separated from his ex-wife Rachel, who got married when he was about to graduate from medical school, and started using dating apps to enjoy the sexual freedom he never experienced as a young man.
However, soon after, Rachel mysteriously disappeared, leaving the children to Toby. There was no sign of where she went or when she would return.
Balancing parenting, returning old friends, getting promoted in the hospital, and dating the right woman in Manhattan, Toby realizes it’s time to figure out what happened to Rachel. He has to be more open about what happened to their marriage in the first place.
Lizzy Caplan, who co-starred with Eisenberg on “Now You See Me 2,” also stars, playing and narrating Toby’s friend Libby.
“Fleishman Is in Trouble” has 9 episodes and it will air on Hulu.
