Focus Features will handle Northern America distribution for the new Wes Anderson-directed & scripted film ‘Asteroid City’, the two sides previously worked together on ‘Moonrise Kingdom’, with Focus Features’ parent company Universal is responsible for international distribution.
The film’s deluxe cast includes Jason Schwartzman, Scarlett Johansson, Jeffrey Wright, Tilda Swinton, Bryan Cranston, Adrien Brody, Tom Hanks, Jeff Goldblum Margot Robbie, Steve Carell, Willem Dafoe, Rupert Friend, Hope Davis, Liev Schreiber, Tony Revolori, Sophia Lillis, Maya Hawke, Fisher Stevens, Matt Dillon Hong Zhou, Jake Ryan, and others.
Described as a “poetic meditation on the meaning of life,” ‘Asteroid City’ is set in a fictional American desert town and teen stargazing convention circa 1955, bringing together students and parents from across the country for academic competition, recreation and staging comedies, dramas, love stories and more.
