The “Animation Oscars” Annie Awards were presented recently. The stop-motion animation ‘Pinocchio’ directed by Guillermo del Toro won the Best Feature Award, and the Best Indie Feature was ‘Marcel the Shell with Shoes On’.
Disney, which marks its 100th anniversary this year, missed out on all of the Annie Awards for feature films, despite 11 nominations for its animations and seven for Disney and Pixar’s ‘Turning Red’. Only the live-action film ‘Avatar: The Way of Water’ won for special effects.
