Historical drama film “The Woman King” revealed a large number of stills, female warriors highlight moments

The film will tell the story of the warrior women of Dahomey, the old name for Benin, a transit point for slaves since the sixteenth century, known in the West as the “Slave Coast” for three hundred years.

Dahomey female warriors was established by the kingdom’s fifth king, Aghaja, first as a female bodyguard attribute, later the king developed this armed force into a female militia unit, which is a real-life front-line female army.

In 1727 they succeeded in conquering the kingdom of Vida, then the largest slave trade center in the world, and in 1729 he officially transformed this female unit into the Women’s Army Corps.
