The vampire-themed horror thriller “The Last Voyage of Demeter” has been postponed, originally scheduled to be released on January 27, 2023, and is now set to be released in Northern America on August 11, 2023.
“The Last Voyage of Demeter” focuses on the “Demeter Ship”, featuring Javier Botet as Dracula, Corey Hawkins, Liam Cunningham, David Dastmalchian, Aisling Franciosi and more.
The film is directed by André Øvredal, director of “Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark”, written by Bragi F. Schut (“Season of the Witch”), produced by Abelin Entertainment, and distributed by Universal.
In the chapter “The Captain’s Journal” by Bram Stoker, the original author of the novel “Dracula”, “Demeter” is the name of the ship that transported Dracula from Transylvania to London.
The Russian sailing ship, carrying 50 large unmarked wooden crates, has since run aground on the British coastline, in tatters, with only one insane survivor.
The story of the film will focus in detail on Demeter’s horrific journey: a mysterious passenger slaughtering the crew one by one.
