Isabela Merced (“Transformers: The Last Knight” “Dora and the Lost City of Gold”) joins Sony’s new Marvel superhero film “Madame Web”.
The film, which also stars Dakota Johnson, Sydney Sweeney, and Celeste O’Connor, is also the first female-led superhero movie in Sony’s Marvel Character Universe.

“Madame Web” is directed by S.J. Clarkson (“Collateral” “The Defenders”) and written by Matt Sazama & Burk Sharpless (“Morbius” “Lost in Space”), and hits theaters in Northern America on July 7, 2023.
In the comics, Madame Web is usually Cassandra Webb, an elderly blind woman who suffers from neuromuscular disease, which makes her movement and breathing inconvenient, and needs to be connected to a cobweb-like life support system.
She has precognitive abilities and has helped Spider-Man find kidnapped people. The movie will adapt this setting. She is connected to the “multiverse” and may also be an important figure in opening multiple universes.
