‘Isle of the Dead’: AMC will create a new ‘The Walking Dead’ spin-off

AMC will create a new “The Walking Dead” spin-off, “Isle of the Dead,” which features Maggie and Negan, with Lauren Cohan and Jeffrey Dean Morgan returning to star.

This is the fifth spin-off of “The Walking Dead”, run by senior writer Eli Jorné of the original series, and the entire series is controlled by Scott M. Gimple of the Walking Dead universe.

“Isle of the Dead” has 6 episodes and it will air next year.

Set in Manhattan, the series follows Maggie and Negan as they explore post-apocalyptic New York. Due to the long-term isolation from the mainland, there are now only the dead and a few residents who are struggling to survive.
