The director James Wan’s Aquaman 2 has been filmed in the UK for some time.
In an interview with “Total Cinema” recently, he revealed that the film was heavily influenced by the Italian science fiction horror film “Errore Nello Spazio”.
He said that the sequel will bring out the dark and terrifying side of the underwater world more fully.
“Aquaman 2” will be released in North America on December 16, 2022.
“Aquaman 2 is deeply inspired by “Errore Nello Spazio”.” James Wan said, “You can take the boy away from fear, but you can never take the fear away from the boy.”
“Errore Nello Spazio” is a 1965 science fiction horror film.
It tells the story of two spaceships landing on a mysterious planet, and two crew members are possessed by an unknown demon.
This film directed by Italian style master Mario Bava has received positive reviews.
Many people speculate that it had an important influence on Ridley Scott’s “Alien” and its prequel “Prometheus”.
James Wan is best at horror movies. Obviously, “Aquaman 2” will make a big fuss on this element.
He said: “The first movie surprised many people. Part of the reason is that the audience is not familiar with comic books. The seabed described in comics is a very scary and strange world,” he said.
James Wan said, “People are surprised that I didn’t make dark, heavy movies based on comics, because I didn’t think it was right. But in the second movie, people will be more receptive to this development direction because I have already Laid the foundation.”
