James Wan shares behind-the-scenes photos of the well-known horror film “Insidious” to commemorate the film’s 11th anniversary (released in North America on April Fool’s Day 2011).
He recalled: After doing “Saw” at that time, he hoped to shoot something that was less direct and bloody and more atmospheric, so he chose the theme of “spiritual body projection”, and the theme was still “to be scary”. At a very small cost, I hope to retain creative control.
But there are still good casts for a small budget – Lin Shaye, Rose Byrne, Patrick Wilson (James Wan only put parentheses after his name: “This man!”), Ty Simpkins, Barbara Hershey, everyone in 24 days Finished “Insidious”.
The original script for “Insidious” was titled “The Further” by screenwriter Leigh Whannell. James Wan thought “Insidious” sounded cooler and convinced Whannell to change the name.
James Wan did the final cut on “Insidious” on his own computer (he says he’s editing “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom” now, of course for “a little more”), along with assistant editor Dennis. Home work.
Dennis is sitting at breakfast, the cable on his computer running all the way through the kitchen to James Wan’s computer, “dream back to when I was making student movies”.
And now, 11 years later, “our little movie has become a hit horror franchise, and Patrick Wilson is returning for “Insidious: The Dark Realm” (Wilson will direct the fifth installment) Long live The Further.”
