James Wan will team up with streaming media Peacock to create the thriller series “Teacup”, which is adapted from the horror novel “Stinger” by Robert McCammon, with Ian McCulloch (“Yellowstone”) as a screenwriter and James Wan executive production.
Published in 2015, the novel Stinger takes place within 24 hours of Hell, Texas, a place pushed to the brink by racial conflict, gang violence and economic collapse.
Things quickly take a turn for the worse when an unidentified spaceship crashes in the desert outside the city. Immediately afterwards, a second ship came with an alien called “Stinger”.
“Stinger” is a kind of star hunter who will get the job done no matter the cost. He brings endless technological marvels and limitless destructive powers, threatening the very existence of the town, its inhabitants, and the wider world.
The show tells the story of a group of aliens who must assemble on a Texas ranch to face a mysterious threat.
