Janelle Monáe (“Hidden Figures” “Moonlight”) will star in A24’s new drama “De La Resistance” as jazz star and freedom fighter Josephine Baker.
The story focuses on Baker, a well-known black American-French singer & dancer, who served as an Allied spy in the French Resistance during World War II and helped fight the Nazis.
The show is co-created and operated by Jennifer Yale (“The Underground Railroad” “Outlander”), and is currently scheduled to be broadcast, with multiple streaming media competing.
