Despite being boycotted by Hollywood for allegedly being in trouble, Johnny Depp has landed new deals elsewhere.
According to media reports, Luc Besson’s ex-girlfriend, French female director Maiwenn Le Besco, will invite Depp to play King Louis XV of France in a historical drama.
The film’s title and plot have not yet been revealed, and the film will start shooting this summer for a period of three months. It will be filmed at multiple landmarks in Paris, primarily Versailles.
King Louis XV was the fourth king of the French Bourbon dynasty. He was called “Louis the Beloved”. He magically continued the entire dying family. He was loved by the French people in the early days of his reign.
But his inability to reform the French monarchy and his policies of appeasement in Europe cost him the support of the people.
After his death he became one of the most unpopular kings of France.
