Kang-ho Song won the Best Actor at the Cannes Film Festival for “Broker”, holding the trophy happily.
He also became South Korea’s first Best Actor at Cannes and the first Best Actor at three major European film festivals. He previously went to Cannes with “Gisaengchung”, which won the Palme d’Or for best picture.
This time, Kang-ho Song said at the winner’s conference: The rich diversity of Korean films and the vast number of fans made it possible for him to win this award.
He also said that Hirokazu Koreeda, the Japanese director who directed “Broker”, knew Korean culture well, so there was no difficulty in understanding it during the shooting.
