Leonardo DiCaprio and Martin Scorsese will work together for the seventh time, each starring in & directing a new film “The Wager: A Tale of Shipwreck, Mutiny, and Murder” and serving as producers.
The Wager: A Tale of Shipwreck, Mutiny, and Murder,” adapted from David Grann’s chronicle book of the same name, it tells the story of the 1740s, a large ship from England because of chasing a Spanish ship, a collision in an island in the Patagonia region of South America, after a lot of trouble, 30 hungry and distressed crew and an already riddled ship reach the Brazilian coastline.
But six months later, another, more ramshackle ship appeared on the Chilean coast, and the three surviving men on board accused of betrayal by those on the first ship.
Allegations and counter-allegations emerged, and in response, the British Admiralty held a special trial to find out what had happened on the island.
Thus comes to light a story of a captain and crew who not only struggle to deal with the most brutal natural elements on the planet, but also struggle with their own human nature.
Another book by Grann, the original author of the film, was also made by Leonardo and Scorsese into the film ‘Killers of the Flower Moon’, and both ‘Killers of the Flower Moon’ and this new film have been picked up by Apple Studios.
