Belgium has confirmed the selection of Lukas Dhont’s (‘Girl’) new film ‘Close’ in the “Best International Film” category at this year’s Academy Awards.
The story focuses on the friendship of two boys and their drifting apart: Leo and Remi, a 13-year-old boy, have had a long and strong friendship, and were once considered a couple by their classmates, creating suspicion.
One day, their friendship is suddenly disrupted and Leo, unable to understand what is going on, goes to Remi’s mother Sophie for help.
The film stars Eden Dambrine, Gustav De Waele and others, it won the Grand Jury Prize at this year’s Cannes Film Festival.
