Lupita Nyong’o quits Apple’s new series “Lady in the Lake,” which was supposed to star her and Natalie Portman.
Now that the filming is in progress, and “Variety” and other media have recently reported the news of Nyong’o’s withdrawal, the reason has not been revealed yet, revealing that the producer is currently looking for a new actor to replace her, and Portman did not quit.
“Lady in the Lake” is based on Laura Lippman’s bestselling book of the same name, directed by Alma Har’el (“Honey Boy”), about “In a city of lies, can a woman touch the truth?”
In Baltimore in the 1960s, an unsolved murder case brings housewife/mother Maddie Schwartz (Portman) back to work as an investigative reporter, and her and another woman, Cleo (originally Nyong’o) A collision occurred.
The latter is striving to juggle work with the responsibilities of being a mother, and a passionate commitment. Together, the two will advance the Black Progress agenda in Baltimore.
