Sony’s new Marvel comic book superhero film ‘Madame Web’ changed its release date from July 7, 2023 to October 6 Northern America release.
Starring Dakota Johnson, Sydney Sweeney, Celeste O’Connor, Isabela Merced, Tahar Rahim, Emma Roberts, and Adam Scott, the film is the first superhero movie in Sony’s Marvel character universe to feature a female protagonist and is directed by S.J. Clarkson (‘Collateral,’ ‘The Defenders’) directed by Matt Sazama & Burk Sharpless (‘Morbius,’ ‘Lost in Space’) wrote the screenplay.
Madame Web in the comic is usually an elderly blind woman Cassandra Webb, due to neuromuscular disease, she can not move and breathe easily, need to be connected to the spider web like a survival system.
She has precognitive powers and has helped Spider-Man find kidnapped people. The movie will be adapted to this setting, she has a connection with the “multiverse” and may be an important character in opening multiple universes.
