Matt Reeves said that “The Batman” was inspired by comics, and it will be the darkest work

As one of DC’s popular superheroes, Batman’s film and television after the trilogy has been in a tepid state, while Marvel next door has made a lot of money.

Perhaps unwilling, DC announced the filming of “The Batman” before, hoping to bring this Gotham guardian to the craze again.

“The Batman” director Matt Reeves talked about the film in an interview recently, saying that “The Batman” was inspired by the 1980s comic “Batman: Year One”.

In Batman: Year One, Frank Miller groundbreakingly recreates Batman’s origin story—who he was and how he became Batman.

This work is the most realistic and darkest story in the “Batman” series, and it has also become the setting followed by subsequent stories.

While this would give the movie a similar element to the previous Batman trilogy, it’s also the perfect stage for Batman, the Guardian of the Night.

Matt Reeves said: “To complement the story of Batman: Year One, the idea was to find a younger actor (ie Robert Pattinson).”

“He heard we were doing this and was excited about the idea of another version of the character,” Reeves said.

“So when I met him, and he read the script, we talked for a long, long time, and I realized, ‘This guy is a huge fan of mine.'”

While Pattinson was a good fit for the role, he still had to audition. Interestingly, Pattinson auditioned in Val Kilmer’s old bat suit.

“The Batman” is a superhero film directed by Matt Reeves and it stars Robert Pattinson, Jeffrey Wright, Zoë Kravitz, Paul Dano and more.

“The Batman” is slated for release in North America on March 4, 2022.
