Netflix’s dark comedy series “The Brothers Sun” stars Michelle Yeoh, Justin Chien, Sam Song Li, Highdee Kuan and Joon Lee.
Set in Los Angeles and Taiwan, the family soap opera is written by an all-Asian cast and stars Charles Sun, a member of the Taipei mob who lives as a ruthless assassin.
When his father is shot by a mysterious killer, Charles must travel to Los Angeles to protect his mother and his completely unaware brother Bruce .
Michelle Yeoh plays mother Eileen , who has built a new life for herself and her son in Los Angeles, far from her past in Taiwan.
Justin Chien plays Charles , the eldest son of a gang leader who was raised to be a hard-hearted criminal.
He goes to Los Angeles to protect his mother and brother and finds himself torn between two choices: the life he grew up with and the life he can create for himself.
Sam Song Li plays Bruce , who came to America as a child with few memories of Taipei and no knowledge of his family’s past. When his infamous and respected brother shows up at his doorstep, Bruce is drawn into a world he was completely unprepared for.
Highdee Kuan plays Alexis, a fiercely angry and ambitious woman who grew up with a strong sense of justice and work ethic and later became an assistant prosecutor.
Joon Lee plays TK, an aspiring gangster and Bruce’s best friend since childhood who wishes he was strong, loyal and smart – but isn’t, yet that doesn’t stop him from trying.
Also starring Alice Hewkin as May/June, Jon Xue Zhang as Blood Boots, Jenny Yang as Xing, Madison Hu as Grace and Rodney To as Mark.
“The Brothers Sun” is written and executive produced by Brad Falchuk and Byron Wu, with the former serving as operator and Kevin Tancharoen (“Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” “The Book of Boba Fett”) directing the eight-episode series.
