Netflix will make “The New York Times” bestseller “The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo” into a movie with Liz Tigelaar as a screenwriter.
Written by Taylor Jenkins Reid, this historical novel tells the story of 79-year-old reclusive Hollywood legend Evelyn Hugo who chooses little-known journalist Monique Grant to write her biography about her rise in Hollywood’s Golden Age and the people behind her seven marriages. The story is made public.
The biography revealed many secrets and lies, and Evelyn Hugo promised that Monique Grant would get all the authorship rights, royalties, etc.
So the question arises: Why did Evelyn choose Monique as the only subject of her confession?
Reed revealed in an interview that the book was inspired by Elizabeth Taylor, Ava Gardner, and Rita Hayworth.
