Netflix has won the global rights to the new film “Pain Hustlers” starring Emily Blunt and directed by David Yates (“Harry Potter” “Fantastic Beasts” series) for more than $50 million, which is the largest deal so far in Cannes .
Written by writer Wells Tower, the film will start shooting in August.
“Pain Hustlers” tells the story of high school dropout Liza Drake, who finds a job at a ramshackle start-up pharmaceutical company on Florida’s high street in order to give herself and her young daughter a better life.
Her charisma and drive quickly propel the company into high society, but soon find herself at the center of a criminal conspiracy with deadly consequences.
