There’s a teaser trailer now for ‘Gudetama: An Eggcellent Adventure,’ which features the popular unmotivated character created by Sanrio in a mixed medium show with live-action and CGI elements, that’s slated to stream sometime in late 2022.
Move over Hello Kitty, a new Sanrio character is coming to the small screen. Gudetama, the popular unmotivated, uncooked egg character created by Sanrio, will make its streaming debut on Netflix in Gudetama: An Eggcellent Adventure.
The series will feature a mix of both live-action and CGI elements to help bring the little blobby creature to life.
Netflix describes the upcoming series as, “a lethargic, empathetic road movie about finding one’s parents — for everyone who just wants to laze about! Having resigned itself to the fact that it will just end up on someone’s plate, Gudetama just wants to be lazy all the time.
But, swept up by the go-getting, overbearing chick Shakipiyo, it leaves the refrigerator and heads out into the world. Together, these polar opposites go on an adventure to find their mother!”
As the premiere gets ever closer, details surrounding the series are beginning to emerge. We now know that the main theme song “Gudetama March” will be performed by Yuko Hara (Southern All Stars).
