A new official trailer for Netflix’s new adaptation of the hit novel, ‘The School for Good and Evil’.Two girls must fight for the fates in The School for Good and Evil, the latest from director Paul Feig.
Sophie and Agatha didn’t expect to end up at the illustrious school. It’s the place where fairy tale characters are molded, and most attendees are legacy admissions.
Sophie and Agatha are ordinary girls, but they’re plucked anyway and whisked off to the school. However, they don’t land where they expected, with the good-natured Sophie ending up at the school for villains and the troublemaking Agatha at the school for heroes.
To correct the mistake they must play by fairy tale rules, which of course is no easy task.
Based on the bestselling book series of the same name, the film offers Feig a chance to indulge in some of his favorite things: high fashion and women being campy.
The Bridesmaids and A Simple Favor director has never done fantasy like this before, though, so it’s still an opportunity for him to stretch his wings.
Leading in front of the camera are Disney alum Sofia Wylie and relative newcomer Sophia Anne Caruso as Agatha and Sophie, respectively.
The supporting cast is where things really heat up, with Charlize Theron, Kerry Washington, Michelle Yeoh, and Laurence Fishburne all donning glitzy fantasy outfits and making the school come to life.
With lots more books in the series, this could easily spin off into its own franchise if they get this first outing right.
The School for Good and Evil is directed by Paul Feig and stars Sofia Wylie, Sophia Anne Caruso, Charlize Theron, and Kerry Washington. It will be released worldwide on Netflix October 19th.
