According to foreign media reports, Hong Kong director Kwok Cheung Tsang will direct the first episode of the Netflix version of “The Three-Body Problem”, which may balance the Western elements of the series and the Chinese context.
He will also serve as the co-producer of “The Three-Body Problem”.
Kwok Cheung Tsang’s representative works include “Better Days” and “Soul Mate”.
In 2020, he won the 39th Hong Kong Film Awards for Best Director with “Better Days”.
In March 2021, “Better Days” was nominated for the 93rd Oscar for Best International Film.
The series was created by David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, the creators of Game of Thrones, and Alexander Woo, the season 2 operator of The Terror.
Cixin Liu, the original author of “The three body problem”, and Yukun Liu, the English translator, serve as consultant producers.
The cast has not yet been announced. Previously, it was reported that Eiza Gonzalez (“Baby Driver” “Hobbs and Shaw”) was in talks to appear.
