Since Disney’s live-action version of “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” was officially announced to star Rachel Zegler, a mixed-race Latina actress, it has caused a lot of controversy among netizens.
Rachel Zegler made a positive response in an interview recently.
“In a million years, I never thought this was possible for me. You don’t usually see Snow White of Latin origin. Although Snow White is really important in Spanish-speaking countries. Blanca Nieves (“Snow White” in Spanish) is a super icon, whether you’re talking about the Disney animated version or the other, the Grimm fairy tales and all the stories that come with it. But you don’t particularly see Snow White like me Princess, or me playing that role. When the starring announcement was made, it was a big hit for a few days because everyone was outraged.”
