Japan’s leading game company Nintendo Co., Ltd. announced today that it will acquire Tokyo-based CG production company Dynamo Pictures and rename it ‘Nintendo Pictures’.
The newly established “Nintendo Co., Ltd.” studio will not only enhance Nintendo Co., Ltd.’s visual content planning and production capabilities, but will also adapt games into film and television works, such as CG animation.
Dynamo Pictures has worked on games such as ‘Death Stranding’, ‘PERSONA’ and ‘METROID’, as well as anime works such as ‘Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045’ and ‘Gyakuten Saiba’.
Nintendo Co., Ltd. and Universal’s Illumination are collaborating on ‘Super Mario Bros.: The Movie’ featuring the voice of Chris Pratt, which will be released in Northern America on April 7, 2023.
