The new film written and directed by Christopher Nolan is officially titled “Oppenheimer”.
Old partner Cillian Murphy confirmed to play the leading role of the actor “Father of the Atomic Bomb” Robert Oppenheimer.
The film was also announced to be released in North America on July 21, 2023 during the summer vacation.
“Oppenheimer” is adapted from the Pulitzer award-winning book by Kai Bird and Martin J. Sherwin. It belongs to the World War II biopic.
“Oppenheimer” focuses on Robert Oppenheimer, the “father of atomic bombs” in the United States, who led the creation of the world’s first atomic bomb in 1945.

The film is funded and distributed by Universal Pictures. It is reported that the production cost is 100 million U.S. dollars, and it is planned to start shooting in early 2022.
This is also the sixth collaboration between Cillian Murphy and Nolan.
“Oppenheimer” will use IMAX 65mm and 65mm large format film for shooting.
Photographer Hoyte Van Hoytema (“Tenet” and “Interstellar”), editor Jennifer Lame (“Tenet”), soundtracker Ludwig Goransson (“Tenet”) and other old partners formed the behind-the-scenes production team.
