Sam Raimi, director of the original Spider-Man trilogy, shares his thoughts on “Spider-Man: No Way Home.”
In particular, Spider-Man villains who appeared in his films: Doctor Octopus and Green Goblin have both shown iconic performances in this new film.
Sam Raimi told Variety that it’s exciting to see these classic Spider-Man villains return to the big screen. “It was so much fun,” Raimi said.
“I love No Way Home, and the audience I watched with me went crazy. It was great to see Alfred Molina play his classic character (Doctor Octopus), and Willem Dafoe (Green Goblin), watching these guys put It’s taken to a new level. Tobey is as good as ever. The best word I can say is it’s refreshing.”
Willem Dafoe returns to the classic Green Goblin role from Sam Raimi’s first Spider-Man movie in “Spider-Man: No Way Home”, while Alfred Molina reprises his role as Doctor Octopus in Sam Raimi’s version of Spider-Man 2 .
A month after its premiere, “Spider-Man: No Way Home” is still dominating the North American box office.
“Spider-Man: No Way Home” has grossed more than $1.69 billion worldwide, including $721 million in North America.
Sam Raimi is filming his next Marvel movie, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
It was revealed last November that the film was in the midst of a reshoot, but now Sam Raimi says they’re close to finishing filming.
“I think we’re done, but we’ve cut content. We’ve just started testing the footage and we’ll see if there’s anything we need to clean up.”
