On October 8, local time, the movie “Parallel Mothers” premiered at the 59th New York Film Festival.
Director Pedro Almodóvar appeared with the lead stars Penélope Cruz and Milena Smit.
At the scene, Tilda Swinton appeared in a pleasant surprise to help her old partner Almodóvar’s new film.
“Parallel Mothers” brings the lives of contemporary Spanish mothers in Madrid to the screen.
The film revolves around the parallel trajectory of two women giving birth on the same day.
“Parallel Mothers” focuses on the life world of contemporary Madrid mothers and the first and second years of their births.
Earlier, Penélope won the honor of best actress at the 78th Venice International Film Festival with the film.
The film was also shortlisted for Best Picture of the Golden Lion Award in the main competition.
“Parallel Mothers” also served as the closing film of this New York Film Festival.
